This ayat translates to “then, as a result, they should enslave themselves in worship to the master of this house (Kaaba)”.

By mentioning “this house”, Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is letting them know that all the conveniences that they received (destruction of Abrahah’s army, economic prosperity etc.), were only for one purpose – they do right by this house, the purpose for which Ibrahim (alaihissalam) built this house.

This ayat is the heart of entire clash between Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and the disbelievers. The entire mission of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is to just restore the place of that house i.e., to fulfill the dua of Ibrahim (alaihissalam). The Quraysh were given the chance to do that on their own, but they failed to do so.
