Translation of Third Kalima

Glory be to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and all praise be to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), there is none worthy of worship except Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), and Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is the Greatest. And there is no might or power except from Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), the Exalted, the Great One.

Ibn Mas’ud (radi allahu anhu) reported: Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “I met Ibrahim (alaihissalam) on the night of ascension (Al-Isra’ wal-Mi’raj), and he said to me: ‘O Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), convey my greetings to your Ummah, and tell them that Jannah has a vast plain of pure soil and sweet water. It is a plain levelled land. The plants grow there by uttering: Subhan-Allah, Al-hamdu lillah, La ilaha illallah and Allahu Akbar (Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is free from imperfection; praise be to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala); there is no true god except Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala); and Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is Greatest).”

Abu Hurairah (radi allahu anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “The uttering of the words: “Subhanallah (Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is free from imperfection), Alhamdulillah (all praise is due to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala)), La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala)) and Allahu Akbar (Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is the Greatest)’ is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises.”

It was narrated from Samurah bin Jundab (radi allahu anhu) that: The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “(There are) four that are the best of words, and it does not matter with which you begin: Subhan-Allah, wal-Hamdu-Lillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wa Allahu Akbar (Glory is to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), praise is to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), none has the right to be worshipped but Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is the Most Great).”

Jabir bin ‘Abdullah (radi allahu anhu) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) say: ‘The best of remembrance is La ilaha illallah (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala)), and the best of supplication is Alhamdulillah (praise is to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala)).’”

Abu Dharr (radi allahu anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Every morning charity is due from every joint bone of the body of every one of you. Every utterance of Allah’s (subhanahu wa ta’ala) Glorification (i.e., Subhan-Allah) is an act of charity, and every utterance of praise of him (i.e., Al-hamdu lillah) is an act of charity, and every utterance of profession of Faith (i.e., La ilaha illallah) is an act of charity, and every utterance of his Greatness (i.e., Allahu Akbar) is an act of charity; and enjoining good is an act of charity and forbidding what is disreputable is an act of charity; and two Rak’ah prayer which one offers in the forenoon (Ad- Duha) will suffice for all this.”

Narrated Abdullah ibn AbuAwfa (radi allahu anhu): A man came to the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and said: I cannot memorise anything from the Qur’an: so teach me something which is sufficient for me. He said: Say Subhanallah (Glory be to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala)), walhamdulillah (and praise be to Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala)), wa la ilaha illallahu (and there is no god but Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala)), wallahu akbar (and Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) is most great), wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (and there is no might and no strength but in Allah) .

(It is the third kalima)

He said: Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), this is for Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala), but what is for me? He said: Say: O Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) have mercy on me, and sustain me, and keep me well, and guide me. When he stood up, he made a sign with his hand (indicating that he had earned a lot).

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: He filed up his hand with virtues.
